Tamannaah to do 'Babli Bouncer' with acclaimed director

Tamannaah Bhatia, who is currently playing Chiranjeevi's pair in 'Bholaa Shankar', has been signed up for a promising Bollywood project by Fox Star Studios and Junglee Pictures. Touted to be a coming-of-age story drama with a unique plot, the film is being helmed by Madhur Bhandarkar, who has won National Awards in the past. Saurabh Shukla, Abhishek Bajaj and Sahil Vaid have key roles.

Going by Bhandarkar's past track record, the female protagonist is going to be both soul-stirring and impactful. The 'Sye Raa' and 'F3' actress has got a never seen before role in the movie.

Talking about 'Babli Bouncer', the makers said, "It is a delightful coming-of-age fictional story of a female bouncer, set in the real ‘bouncer town’ of North India – Asola Fatepur." More details about the plot are awaited.

The director is looking at dishing out a slice-of-life comedy. The film went on the floors today. "I am ready as ever to bring forth this story from the world view of women bouncers," the director said, adding that Tamannaah's performance is going to stand out.

The actress is looking forward to playing the character, which is one of the most exciting and fun characters of her career. She has described Babli as a powerful character. "For the first time, a film will explore the story of a female bouncer, and I am more than excited to be her voice. I can't wait to dive into this whole new world," the beauty added.

While being entertaining, 'Babli Bouncer' will also celebrate the rich diversity of human experiences and imagination through our stories, said Bikram Duggal, Head of Studios, Disney Star. Amrita Pandey, CEO Junglee Pictures, noted that the film tells a rooted, inspiring and feel-good story. It will be a heart-warming film.

The film is being made in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
