Sivakarthikeyan’s much-anticipated period action drama Parasakthi is officially back on track for a grand theatrical release on January 10, 2025, perfectly timed for the Pongal festive season. Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Sudha Kongara, the film is inspired by true incidents linked to the Hindi opposition movement in Tamil Nadu, making it one of the most politically and emotionally charged projects of the year.
The film’s release plans had earlier hit a roadblock after the Central Board of Film Certification raised objections to certain political portions. Following revisions and a review by the Revising Committee, the suspense surrounding the film’s fate has now ended. Parasakthi has been granted a U/A certificate, with an approved runtime of 2 hours and 43 minutes, clearing all major hurdles for its theatrical debut.

With censor issues resolved, the makers are moving ahead confidently with the original release plan. While the Tamil version is confirmed for a solo release, there is currently no official update regarding the Telugu version.
The film boasts a strong ensemble cast. Sreeleela plays the female lead, while Ravi Mohan appears in a powerful antagonist role. Key supporting roles are essayed by Rana Daggubati, Atharvaa, and others. Parasakthi is produced by Aakash Baskaran under the banner of Dawn Pictures, with music composed by G. V. Prakash Kumar.
With a festival release window, a compelling real-life backdrop, and a proven creative team, Parasakthi is well-positioned to capitalize on the Pongal advantage. If early reports and audience response turn positive, the film could emerge as one of the biggest Tamil hits of the festive season.
