Director Nag Ashwin has joined the growing list of voices opposing the Telangana government’s proposal to auction 400 acres of biodiverse land for development. While many celebrities have already spoken out, Nag Ashwin addressed the issue during a press interaction today.
Expressing his uncertainty on approaching the matter, Ashwin stated that while development is important, cutting down 400 acres of trees may not be right. He suggested that instead of clearing such an ample green space, the government could consider utilizing existing IT parks in the area, many of which remain vacant.
At the same time, Nag Ashwin also mentioned that opting for a tier-two city might be a better alternative, though he admitted he wasn’t entirely sure about the best course of action.
Earlier, Nag Ashwin had shared an Instagram story with the caption “Mana Kharma,” which many believe was a subtle reaction to the same issue.
