Rashmika Mandanna Joins Sets of Allu Arjun–Atlee Film, Plays Challenging Negative-Shade Role

Rashmika Mandanna, who has consistently earned praise for her performances across languages, is set to surprise audiences once again with a bold and challenging role. The actress will be seen in a crucial part in Allu Arjun’s next big-budget film, which is currently under production.

The yet-untitled project is being directed by Atlee, while Deepika Padukone plays the female lead. According to sources, Rashmika will be essaying a character with a negative shade, making it one of the most demanding roles of her career so far.

Interestingly, it was Allu Arjun himself who suggested Rashmika’s name for this role. The duo previously delivered a blockbuster together in the Pushpa franchise, and their successful collaboration played a key role in her inclusion in this ambitious project.

Rashmika was reportedly impressed by the film’s unique concept and Atlee’s vision, prompting her to sign the project without hesitation. She officially joined the sets this week and is currently shooting for her portions. The actress is expected to complete her schedule within this month.

Following this, Rashmika will take a short break for her wedding, which is scheduled to take place in Udaipur on February 26. After wrapping up her commitments, she is expected to resume work on her upcoming projects.

Meanwhile, Allu Arjun is planning to complete the film’s shoot post-summer before moving on to his next assignment. The film, tentatively referred to as AA22, is being produced by Sun Pictures and is slated for a summer 2027 theatrical release.
