“I Still See Jayam Ravi as My Son” – Aarthi’s Mother Sujatha Vijayakumar Breaks Silence Amid Controversy

As the personal rift between actor Jayam Ravi (Ravi Mohan) and his wife Aarthi continues to unfold publicly, Aarthi’s mother and veteran producer Sujatha Vijayakumar has issued a heartfelt and strongly-worded statement addressing the allegations circulating about her involvement.

Taking to Instagram, Sujatha wrote:

“I have been in the film industry for over 25 years as a woman producer — a journey filled with challenges. Until now, I have never spoken out publicly unless it was related to a film release. But today, I am compelled to speak, as silence is being mistaken for guilt.”

She said various accusations — from breaking up a family to financial manipulation — have been aimed at her, but she chose silence to protect her children’s future. However, she now feels the need to defend herself to stop misinformation from becoming perceived truth.

Sujatha recounted that she started her production journey with the film Veerappu in 2007 and returned to film production in 2017 on the advice of her son-in-law Jayam Ravi. She produced three of his films: Adanga Maru, Bhoomi, and Siren, borrowing over ?100 crore from financiers. “Jayam Ravi contributed only 25% of that amount. I paid him a salary for each film, and I have all the agreements, bank transfers, and tax documents to prove it,” she stated.

She refuted allegations that she made Ravi responsible for her debts. “Even if he were just another actor, I wouldn’t have forced him. But he was more than that — I saw him as my son and tried to protect him from financial strain.”

Sujatha also mentioned that Ravi had provided a written assurance to act in another film to help her recover losses, but later distanced himself. Despite multiple efforts to reconnect with him, including a message sent just ten days ago, she says her outreach was purely from a place of maternal concern, not professional pressure.

In closing, she appealed emotionally:

“If there is even one piece of evidence proving that I made Jayam Ravi responsible for even a single rupee of my debts, I ask him to make it public. Even today, I see him not just as an actor, not just as a son-in-law, but as my own son.”

Her statement has added a new emotional layer to the ongoing situation, sparking further discussion among fans and the film fraternity.
