Director Vijay and Aishwarya marriage took place in Chennai today (June 11th) with only close family and friends in attendance. A photo of the couple in garlands along with the groom's parents producer A.L. Azhagappan and his wife has been out on the internet. Vijay was earlier married to actress Amala Paul between 2014 to 2017 after which they divorced by mutual consent.

Vijay is known for making movies at regular intervals with this year alone two of his films 'Watchman' starring G.V. Prakash and Yogi Babu and 'Devi 2' starring Prabhu Deva, Tamannaah and Naditha Shwetha was released. He is currently gearing up to shoot the mega mutlilingual movie 'Thalaivi' the biopic of former Tamil Nadu chief minister Jayalalitha played by Bollywood star Kangana Ranaut.
