Vijay’s ‘Jana Nayagan’ OTT Release Delayed!

Actor Vijay’s final film, Jana Nayagan, announced as his last before entering politics, is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on January 9, 2026. The film will hit screens simultaneously in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi on the same date.

In Hindi, the movie has been dubbed as JanNeta and will be distributed across North India by Zee Studios.

To secure a grand release in major multiplex chains like PVR, Inox, and Cinepolis in the Hindi belt, theatre associations impose a condition: the film can only stream on OTT platforms after a mandatory 8-week (two-month) theatrical window.

The production team has agreed to this condition to ensure a massive rollout in North India. Expectations are high that Jana Nayagan will outperform Vijay’s previous films in terms of collections from these premium multiplex chains.

As a result, the film’s OTT release has been pushed back. Sources indicate that Jana Nayagan will arrive on streaming platforms only in March 2026, two months after its theatrical debut.

With fans eagerly awaiting Vijay’s swan song on the big screen, the release is poised to create new milestones for Tamil cinema.
