Superstar Rajinikanth’s Next Film: Directed by ‘Dragon’ Fame Ashwath Marimuthu!

Superstar Rajinikanth is currently focused intensely on the shooting of Jailer 2, directed by Nelson Dilipkumar. Fans have been eagerly awaiting news on which director he will team up with next after completing this project.

Rajinikanth had been listening to stories from several leading directors. There were earlier reports suggesting he might collaborate with Ramkumar, director of Parking. However, those rumors have now changed, and it has been confirmed that Ashwath Marimuthu, known for the acclaimed film Dragon, will direct Rajinikanth’s next venture.

Produced by Raaj Kamal Films International, the official announcement for the film is expected in the first week of January 2026.

Shooting is scheduled to begin in April 2026. Rajinikanth and Ashwath Marimuthu have already met five times for story discussions. During their final meeting, the director’s completed screenplay impressed Rajinikanth so much that he immediately gave his approval. As a result, pre-production work has kicked off in full swing.

This new collaboration has generated tremendous excitement among Rajinikanth’s fans. An official confirmation is anticipated soon.
