Ever since the release of Karthik Subbaraj's Petta, Superstar Rajini's fans have been eagerly waiting for his upcoming project Darbar, directed by A.R. Murugadoss.

Darbar's music album, composed by Anirudh, is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated albums of the year. The 'Thalaivar theme' was recently released, creating a buzz and further adding hype to the first single, titled Chumma Kizhi, that was released today. The peppy number opens with legendary singer SPB's vocals, with Anirudh and lyricist Vivek joining the chorus singers as well. The lyric video of the song has been released with behind-the-scenes visuals, and Rajinikanth ends the song saying "Chumma Kizhi," while congratulating Anirudh for producing an intro number that is sure to rock the theatres. Anirudh is teaming up with Rajinikanth for the second consecutive time after Petta, the album of which emerged a chartbuster.

Shot in a Mumbai backdrop, Rajinikanth will be essaying the role of a cop in Darbar, while Prateik Babbar, Suniel Shetty, Nivetha Thomas, and Yogi Babu will be playing significant roles. Produced by Lyca Productions, Darbar is expected to hit the screens during Pongal 2020.
