Sai Abhyankkar is a rising talent in the Indian music scene. He has garnered huge attention in recent times. Now, he has been chosen as the music director for the upcoming pan-India film starring Icon Star Allu Arjun and directed by blockbuster filmmaker Atlee Kumar.
What’s turning heads is that, despite not having composed for any released feature films yet, he’s been entrusted with such a massive project.
Sai comes from a rich musical lineage. His father, Tipu, is a well-known playback singer who has sung in multiple languages including Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Hindi. From popular tracks like “Unna Maata Cheppanivvu…” from Nuvvu Naaku Nachchaav to “Yamaho Yamma” from Chirutha, Tipu’s voice has resonated with audiences for decades.
Sai’s mother, Harini, is equally accomplished and has lent her voice to countless hit numbers composed by industry legends like A.R. Rahman, Mani Sharma, Devi Sri Prasad, and Thaman.
Sai Abhyankkar made his mark through viral independent music singles before stepping into mainstream cinema. His breakout track “Katchi Sera” (2024) exploded with over 220 million views, followed by “Aasha Kooda”, which surpassed 245 million views—both becoming massive hits among younger audiences.
Even though he hasn’t scored a theatrical film yet, Sai has already been working in the background of the industry. He contributed as an additional programmer for major films like Devara and Coolie, working under music director Anirudh Ravichander.
The industry is watching him now—and expectations are sky-high.
