Virat Kohli has on Saturday opened up on the ongoing controversy over whether India should play Pakistan in the ICC World Cup. Without going overboard, he left it to the Government of India and the Board of Cricket Council of India to take a stand on the issue.
“Our sincere condolences to the families of CRPF soldiers who lost their lives in #PulwamaAttack. We stand by what the nation wants to do and what the BCCI decides to do,” Kohli said.
There is a proposal that India should not play Pak in the WC and even be ready to concede two points to it. Former skipper Sachin Tendulkar is not in agreement with this proposal as India has always trounced Pak in world cup matches. He doesn’t want Pak to laugh its way to two additional points. Coach Ravi Shastri has said that he is willing to accept whatever decision the Government and the BCCI take in this regard.
