‘Uriyadi’ achieves big with people’s support

While many small budget, non-star films are finding it tough even with good content and positive reviews, to hold on to screens more than a week or two, it is a really a happy and gratifying to see a super quality and highly acclaimed film like 'Uriyadi' completing 35 days in theatres.

Today is the 35th day of 'Uriyadi' which has been directed by debutant Vijaya Kumar who had also acted in one of the lead roles in the film. The film which released in a relatively less number of screens, initially got positive reviews but was removed from many screens due to less patronage due to lack of publicity. But after some days the film was carried by the viewers, mostly film enthusiasts on their shoulders. Many youngsters who watched the film raved about it in social media by writing detailed posts about why the film is a must watch. This gathered a good deal of attention for the film and people started coming in and ensured that the film is retained in at least a few screens across Tamil Nadu.

This proves yet again that a genuine attempt will not be let down by people. Hats off to all those who watched the film and supported it.
