Actor Vijay Sethupathi has been troubled by a controversy over a statement he had made about a practice followed in Hindu temples, before an year in the TV program Namma Ooru Hero he had hosted on Sun Tv.
While a complaint has been filed against people who are abusing or threatening the actor, on behalf of his fans association, it must be noted that the actor had not spoken his own opinion but had quoted a statement said by actor and playwright Crazy Mohan in an event.
With many opposing Vijay Sethupathi’s views and many supporting him, actress and director Lakshmi Ramakrishnan has tweeted supporting Vijay Sethupathi. She has tweeted “For believers and those who consider the temple & the rituals as sacred will definitely feel hurt. Nobody will dare make fun of religious practices of any other religion, I agree!!But again, the context, pls check that before getting into conclusions & when did he say this?!!”.
