Suriya has been a philanthropist of repute, who, through his Agaram Foundation, has helped hundreds of underprivileged children in receiving higher studies. At a recent function, when one Gayathri, who studied because of the Foundation and is an English teacher in Kerala, related how her dark life turned bright because of Suriya, the actor became emotional and cried on the stage.
The tenth anniversary of the Agaram Foundation was conducted on Sunday in Chennai and, speaking at the occasion, Sivakumar (Suriya’s father) said that his elder son may act in hundreds of films and earn crores but his true identity is as the founder of Agaram.
He also mentioned that his younger son Karthi also will be known more for his initiative to promote farming.
Suriya once again became emotional and started crying while introducing Jayshree and her family who are the main pillars of the Agaram Foundation. He assured the crowd that he will act in more movies to earn more money so that he can even do much more for the cause of education and society.
