Thalapathy Vijay met the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi Pazhanisamy at his residence in Chennai on Sunday night. It is said that the mega star requested the government to allow a hundred percent occupancy in theaters which is functioning with fifty percent currently.
Further reports suggest that Minister Velumani and 'Master' co-producer Lalith Kumar were also present when Vijay and EPS met around 10 pm. If the government accepts Vijay's request then the film could hit the screens on January 13th ahead of the Pongal holidays.
'Master' directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and jointly produced by XB Film Creators and Seven Screen Studios has music by Anirudh Ravichander. The ensemble starcast comprises of Vijay, Vijay Sethupathi, Malavika Mohanan, Andrea Jeremiah, Shantanu Bhagyaraj and Arjun Doss.
'Master' was slated for release on April 9th but the coronavirus pandemic forced the indefinite postponement and such a big budget film remaining in the cans for nine months would skyrocket the interest rates. Theaters that started functioning on November 14th have not seen good occupancy and are dependent on this biggie to rescue the business.
