Suriya apart from being one of the topmost stars of South Indian cinema is also a philanthropist who through his Agaram Foundation has helped hundreds of underprivileged children to go for higher studies of their dreams by funding them.  In a recent function when Gayathri who is studied through the foundation and is an English teacher in Kerala related how her dark life turned bright because of Suriya who became emotional hearing it and cried moving his fans.

The tenth anniversary of Agaram Foundation was conducted on Sunday in Chennai and speaking at the occassion Sivakumar said that his elder son may act in hundreds of films and earn crores but his true identity is as the founder of Agaram.  He also mentioned that similarly his younger son Karthi also will be known more for his Uzhavan initiative to promote farming.

Suriya once again became emotional and started crying while introducing Jayshree and her family who are the main pillars of Agaram Foundation.   He assured the crowd that he will act in more movies to earn more money so that he can even do much more for the cause of education and society.  The full speech of Suriya and Karthi is in the video below.
