Raakaasa has taken its success story from theatres to the global OTT stage. After emerging as a strong box office performer with family audiences, the film has now entered the Netflix Global Top 10 Non-English Films chart at the No. 7 position.
During its debut tracking week from April 27 to May 3, 2026, the film reportedly registered an impressive 1.2 million views worldwide, making it one of the most-watched non-English films globally on the platform this week.
The achievement marks a major milestone for the Telugu entertainer, especially because its success has been largely driven by audience appreciation and strong word-of-mouth rather than massive pre-release hype. What started as a steadily growing theatrical success has now evolved into a film with notable international reach.

During its theatrical run, Raakaasa emerged as a favorite among family audiences, particularly across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Viewers embraced the film for its lighthearted humour, fantasy-driven storytelling, and easy-flowing entertainment format. That same accessibility now appears to be driving its OTT popularity as well.
One of the film’s biggest strengths continues to be its entertainment quotient. The comedy track featuring Sangeeth Shobhan and Getup Srinu became a major crowd-puller during the theatrical run and remains one of the most talked-about aspects among OTT viewers. Similarly, Vennela Kishore’s energetic comic performance has significantly contributed to the film’s repeat-watch appeal.
The film’s ability to connect across generations has also played a key role in its streaming success. While younger audiences are enjoying its fantasy and imaginative elements, adults are resonating with the humour, emotional interactions, and family-friendly tone. This balance has helped Raakaasa become a comfortable shared watch experience for families both in theatres and at home.

Industry circles have especially noted the organic growth of the film. Rather than relying purely on star power or large-scale promotions, Raakaasa steadily built momentum through audience recommendations and positive feedback, eventually positioning itself as a dependable summer entertainer.
The film’s entry into Netflix’s Global Top 10 also highlights the increasing international visibility of Telugu cinema on streaming platforms, where rooted stories with strong local flavour are finding audiences beyond language barriers.
Directed by Manasa Sharma, the film stars Sangeeth Shobhan and Nayan Sarika in lead roles. It is backed by Niharika Konidela and Umesh Kumar Bansal under Pink Elephant Pictures in association with Z Studios.
With both theatrical and OTT success now under its belt, Raakaasa continues to expand its reach, transforming from a regional family entertainer into a film with growing global recognition.
