The leading South actress, Samantha, will be next seen in the multilingual mythological drama titled ‘Shaakuntalam’. She plays the titular role in the much-awaited film, which is set to be released in 3D on February 17.
Today, the team launched the official trailer of Shaakuntalam in a grand event in Hyderabad. The almost 3-minute-long trailer takes us to the world of Kashyapa Kanumalu (Kashmir). The video presents us with a visually stunning version of a popular story from Mahabharata. The grandeur and splendour of King Dushyant’s Puru Dynasty make the movie extremely exceptional.
The film is massively mounted and is based on internationally acclaimed Kalidasa’s Sanskrit play, ‘Abhijnana Shakuntalam’. Shaakuntalam’s story revolves around the epic love story of Shakuntala and King Dushyant from Mahabharata, portrayed by Samantha and Dev Mohan. The trailer also gives a glimpse of Allu Arjun’s daughter Allu Arha’s character, who is making her debut as a child artist.
Sachin Khedekar, Kabir Bedi, Dr.M Mohan Babu, Prakash Raj, Madhubala, Gautami, Aditi Balan, Ananya Nagalla, Jisshu Sengupta and others play vital roles in Shaakuntalam. Mani Sharma’s musical scores, Shekar V Joseph’s frames and Prawin Pudi’s editing enhance the trailer’s experience.
