Salman Khan effect!: Fans of Prabhas, Chiranjeevi, Yash pine for announcements

Salman Khan has made it clear that 'Radhe' (Hindi), his upcoming movie, will hit the screens for Eid this year. The film will arrive on May 14. With the first major Summer announcement happening, it's only a matter of time before South Indian majors, too, will have to start locking their releases sooner than later. While Tollywood and Kollywood took the lead this Sankranthi with the reopening of theatres, Bollywood has got it going as far as Summer is concerned.

'Radhe Shyam', 'Acharya' and 'KGF 2' are the three tentpole films whose release dates are as yet unclear. With Pawan Kalyan's 'Vakeel Saab', there is no much suspense, as it is expected to be a pre-Ugadi release. The uncertainty is over the film of Prabhas, Megastar Chiranjeevi and Yash.

There is a rumour that 'Acharya' will head to theatres on May 7. If that happens, Prabhas' film may not release in the preceding or following week. Tollywood maintains adequate spacing between two ultra-big movies. However, given that 'Radhe Shyam' is a pan-India movie, it could well make the first move and fix its release date before 'Acharya' does. There is a possibility that Chiranjeevi's movie will be open to moving the needle based on when 'Radhe Shyam' will arrive. Chiru may be the bigger star in the Telugu States, but 'Radhe Shyam' is easily far more awaited than 'Acharya'.

'KGF 2', yet another pan-India title, is yet another movie waiting to end the suspense. It is expected to be on a rampage in North India when it arrives in style. All eyes are on the Yash-Prashanth Neel film this season.

As of now, April 23, May 21 and May 28 are said to be open for the big Summer titles.
