Regina Cassandra awaits the theatrical release of ‘Saakini Daakini’ on Sept 16. She and her co-actress Nivetha Thomas are busy promoting the crime comedy caper.
In a YouTube interview, the ‘Anya’s Tutorial’ actress quipped that men last just 2 minutes. She said that men, thus, are like Maggi noodles.
“I know a joke about boys but I should not crack it here,” she began saying. The actress then added, “Abbayilu, Maggi rendoo two minutes lo aipotharu.” No prizes for guessing what the 2-minute thing refers to.
This is barely an original joke. Stand-up comedians have beaten the joke to death on several occasions. But an actress cracking it is expected to make it more popular than ever.
‘Saakini Daakini’, directed by Sudheer Varma, is a remake of ‘Midnight Runners’ (Korean). Talking about it recently in an IndiaGlitz interview, Regina wrote, “The original has got well-choreographed fights involving two male protagonists. I wondered how it would be adapted in Telugu with two female protagonists. The doubt only excited me more to take up this project. The original has been ably adapted to suit Indian sensibilities.”
