In a decision that has surprised the observers out there, Prasad Film Lab has decided to screen films using print.
In a statement, the company has said that it's proud to announce the "commencement of the traditional celluloid film processing and printing services" at their Lab in Mumbai.
Says Dhananjayan Govind, "Cinema has moved from Analog to Digital in the last 10 years. Now cinema may move back to Analog again. Best wishes to Prasad Film Lab for bringing back the old era." This news comes in the wake of South Indian producers and exhibitors announcing a strike against the arbitrary Virtual Print Fee regime of Digital Service Provides like UFO and Qube.
However, it has to be seen how this will be scaled up. Infrastructure and cost issues are very much there.
