Please don’t lay off employees: KTR to IT sector

Telangana IT Minister KT Rama Rao has on Saturday made a fervent appeal to Information Technology and other industry leaders to not resort to laying off of employees in their organizations.

“On behalf of Telangana Government, I appeal to IT and Industry heads to ensure that no employee – regular, contract or outsourced, lose their job during this crisis,” he said.

“I am aware that the lockdown has led to loss of production and revenue.  However, humanity demands that employees are not fired. You may take to pay cuts, deferment of bonus, hikes, etc.  The government itself has done so for government employees,” KTR said.

As per recent Union Home Ministry guidelines, IT industry can start functioning at 50% capacity (strength of staff) from April 20.
