After the massive Pan-India blockbuster success of Kantara, Rishab Shetty is returning with the much-awaited prequel, Kantara: Chapter 1. Directed and headlined by Rishab himself, the film is produced by the renowned Pan-India production house Hombale Films and is set for a grand theatrical release worldwide on October 2, coinciding with Dasara.
Ahead of the release, the makers hosted a spectacular pre-release event in Hyderabad, with Young Tiger Jr. NTR attending as the chief guest, adding grandeur and emotional depth to the evening.
Speaking at the event, Jr. NTR shared heartfelt words:
“My grandmother used to narrate stories to me in my childhood—tales I never imagined would one day be portrayed on screen. When I saw Kantara, I was left speechless. If I, who already knew the story, was so mesmerized, imagine the impact on audiences hearing it for the first time. Rishab Shetty is truly a rare filmmaker who masters every craft in cinema. Making a film like Kantara: Chapter 1 is no easy task, but Rishab has lived this dream with unmatched dedication, and Hombale Films stood by him to fulfill it. I wholeheartedly wish for this film to shine as one of the greatest blockbusters in Indian cinema.”
Rishab Shetty, overwhelmed by the support, said:
“My heartfelt thanks to everyone for your love and encouragement. Having Jr. NTR, my friend and brother, at this Hyderabad event means so much to me. Telugu audiences have always embraced my films with open arms, and I hope you extend the same blessings to Kantara: Chapter 1 when it releases on October 2.”
Producer Ravi from Mythri Movie Makers praised the trailer, calling it “extraordinary” and predicting record-breaking collections at the Pan-India level. Distributor Shashidhar Reddy echoed this confidence, assuring that the film will live up to expectations.
Heroine Rukmini Vasanth thanked audiences for their continued support across her films and expressed gratitude to NTR for backing the project like his own. Costume designer Pragati Shetty and Hombale Films co-founder Chaluve Gowda emphasized the team’s hard work and the deep cultural roots reflected in the film. Lyricist Rambabu Gosala, who penned two songs for the Telugu version, also predicted a major success.
With Kantara: Chapter 1, Rishab Shetty once again promises a rooted, culture-rich cinematic experience. The film is carrying massive buzz across languages, and with Dasara release locked for October 2, expectations are sky-high for another Pan-India sensation.
