Nirmala Periyasamy the newsreader turned show host turned politician in a recent interview has slammed the family strife based reality shows as fake and TRP driven. Nirmala Samy claims that she was the one who formulated the Solvathellam Unmai` show for which she was the host for over 750 episodes.

But after she left the show Nirmala states under the new host Lakshmy Ramachandran it has turned fake with multiple suicides by family members involved which went unnoticed in Tamil Nadu but would have been severely reprimanded in Kerala. She also condemned how the hosts now threaten participants and even go to the extent of manhandling them (Women Handling!!!).

Nirmala has asserted that when she used to conduct the show she would first sit and discuss the issue with the families for a full day and only later do it in front of the camera for an hour or so. But the others according to her apply makeup and sit directly on the show and put on an act and then after the lights go out they get out of character and go about their daily life unmindful of what happens to the people whose lives are scandalized.
