Riding high on strong buzz, Charming Star Sharwanand is set to present himself in a completely new avatar with Bhogi, a large-scale pan-India period action drama. Directed by Mass Maverick Sampath Nandi, the film marks the first collaboration between the actor-director duo and is being mounted on a grand scale by producer K. K. Radhamohan under the Sri Sathya Sai Arts banner, with presentation by Lakshmi Radhamohan.
The project has already generated significant excitement with its striking first-look poster and a special birthday poster of Sharwanand, both of which received an overwhelmingly positive response for their raw intensity and ambitious vision.
Adding to the intrigue, the makers recently unveiled the first look of Anupama Parameswaran as Kandula Sulochana Rani. Presented in a rooted, rustic avatar, Anupama appears as a village belle walking barefoot along a dusty path, carrying a basket of green leaves. Dressed in a traditional half-saree with an earthy aesthetic, her intense expression hints at a strong and resilient character. The backdrop, featuring mud houses, wooden fences, and cattle, further enhances the authenticity of the rural setting.
Her character, Sulochana, is portrayed as a spirited woman deeply connected to nature, earning her livelihood by crafting leaf plates from Moduga leaves, also known as the “Flame of the Forest.” The role represents quiet strength and resilience, serving as a grounding force in the narrative. Reports suggest that Anupama has undergone detailed preparation for the role, focusing on dialect, diction, and emotional depth to bring authenticity to the character.
The film’s production is progressing at a brisk pace. The team has already completed several extensive schedules, including high-octane action sequences shot in Rajamahendravaram and the forest regions of Rampachodavaram and Maredumilli. The next schedule is slated to begin in and around Hyderabad from the first week of May.

Bhogi also stars Dimple Hayathi as the other female lead. Set in the early 1960s, the film unfolds in a fictional village located along the borders of Telangana and Maharashtra, promising a gripping blend of action and period drama.
Technically, the film brings together an experienced crew. Art direction is handled by Kiran Kumar Manne, cinematography by Kishore Kumar Arokia, and music is composed by Bheems Ceciroleo, adding emotional weight and energy to the narrative.
Positioned as a major pan-India venture, Bhogi is scheduled for a grand theatrical release on August 28, coinciding with the festive occasion of Raksha Bandhan. The film will release simultaneously in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi, aiming to reach a wide audience across the country.
