The news of the passing away of Muthumani who started the first fan club for Superstar Rajinikanth,has come as a huge shock to the all his fans. Muthumani who hailed from Madurai started the Rajini Fan Club, 45 years ago when Rajinikanth was still playing only villain characters.
It was only after Muthumani that others started clubs in the rest of Tamil Nadu and other states and today there are thousands of such clubs active in every city and village.
Two years back Rajinikanth called and spoke to Muthumani when he was receiving treatment at the hospital and said that he was praying to God for his recovery and health. Rajini honored his first loyal fan by mentioning his name in the starting of the song "Muthumani Chudare Vaa" in the movie 'Anbulla Rajinikanth'.Tributes are pouring in for the pioneer fan club leader on social media.
