Most shocking! Bride elopes with priest

Reena Bai (21) hails from Tori Bagrod village in Madhya Pradesh’s Vidisha district.  She is suspected to have eloped with Vinod Maharaj, a priest who solemnized her marriage with a youth from Asath village only on May 7.  

It took all of two weeks for Reena to elope with the priest after her wedding.  The priest had an affair with Reena for two years before her marriage.  He used to face opposition from his wife.  The priest, who hails from the bride’s village, has gone missing.  It’s on this basis that the police suspect that the bride must have eloped with him.  Also, many locals have told the police that the priest and Reena have had an affair since 2017.  

While eloping, Reena reportedly escaped with jewelry worth Rs 1.50 lakh and Rs 30,000 of currency.  These were gifted to her by her in-laws at the time of marriage.  

The family of the bride has lodged a missing person complaint.
