Mohan Raja is a well-known Tamil filmmaker who rose to fame with the arresting thriller 'Thani Oruvan.' His last directorial venture was Sivakarthikeyan's 'Velaikkaran (2017)' which is dated long back. After nearly 4 years, he returns to direction with Tollywood Megastar Chiranjeevi's 153rd movie.
Tentatively named 'Chiru 153,' this project is the official remake of the acclaimed Malayalam blockbuster 'Lucifer' starring Mohan Lal. The original version featured Lal Ettan as a powerful politician. It was helmed by Lal's ardent fan actor Prithvi Raj. Also, Prithvi Raj had essayed a cameo role in the Malayalam political thriller.
The latest buzz is that the team approached the Bollywood star Salman Khan to reprise Prithvi's role in Chiru 153. Also, some sources say that Salman Bhai has rejected the offer as he is quite busy with his Hindi projects. According to the inside sources, the team has also approached Chiyaan Vikram for the cameo. We have to wait to hear from the Chiru 153 team to know if the speculations were true.
Given that Lucifer is a multi-starrer that also features Vivek Oberoi, Manju Warrier and Tovino Thomas, fans are eagerly waiting to see who are going to reprise these roles played by the aforementioned actors. Last week, Chiru 153 went on the floors on a set at the Aluminum factory in Hyderabad. This project is backed by producer NV Prasad and Chiranjeevi’s Konidela Productions.
Thaman S is scoring music for the film while Nirav Shah cranks the camera. Reportedly, Nayanthara will be playing the leading lady in Chiru 153. Also, the makers have finalised 'God Father' as the title of Lucifer Telugu remake according to some inside sources. Meanwhile, Megastar Chiranjeevi has completed his works for Acharya that is likely to have a theatrical release on January 2022.
