There have been income tax raids on leaders of opposition parties including Durai Murugan of the DMK in Tamil Nadu and as the Lok Sabha Elections 2019 is just round the corner it is seen as a revenge tactics of the ruling parties.
In Karnataka raids were conducted on the properties of the JD(S) Minister Puttaraju who is contesting on behalf of the Secular Front in the Mandya constituency. Puttaraju has accused his opposition candidate actress Sumalatha for orchestrating the IT raids with the help of Rajinikanth to influence the ruling BJP leaders. He has cited that Sumalatha’s husband the late actor Ambareesh was a very close friend of Rajini.
