‘Gandhi Talks’ Set for World Digital Premiere on ZEE5 from March 6

After earning widespread appreciation during its theatrical run, the pathbreaking silent film Gandhi Talks is all set for its world digital premiere on ZEE5 starting March 6. The film will stream in Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam, broadening its reach to audiences across multiple regions.

Produced by Zee Studios in association with Moviemill and Kyoorius, the film has been lauded for its bold narrative design and unconventional cinematic grammar. Written and directed by Kishor Pandurang Belekar, Gandhi Talks features a stellar ensemble cast including Vijay Sethupathi, Arvind Swamy, Aditi Rao Hydari, and Siddharth Jadhav.

A Rare Modern Silent Film

In an era dominated by dialogue-driven storytelling, Gandhi Talks distinguishes itself as a rare contemporary silent film. The narrative unfolds entirely through visual expression, nuanced performances, and a soul-stirring musical score composed by A. R. Rahman. Without spoken dialogue, the film relies on body language, framing, and music to convey emotional depth and narrative tension.

The story traces the intersecting lives of individuals grappling with personal loss, financial hardship, and moral crossroads in an unforgiving environment. When their journeys collide, the result is a gripping tale of survival, consequence, and fragile human connection. The absence of dialogue intensifies the emotional immersion, compelling viewers to interpret and internalize each moment.

Voices from the Team

Speaking about the project, Vijay Sethupathi described Gandhi Talks as “a very special film” that communicates profoundly without uttering a single word. He highlighted the unique challenge of expressing emotion purely through presence and performance, adding that he is thrilled the film will now reach a wider audience through ZEE5.

Aditi Rao Hydari shared that the film’s stillness and visual storytelling were what drew her to the project. She emphasized how each moment feels intimate and reflective, allowing audiences to pause and emotionally engage with the characters on a deeper level.

Director Kishor Pandurang Belekar called the film a deeply personal and ambitious endeavor. He noted that crafting a narrative without spoken words demanded complete reliance on visuals, performances, and music. The positive theatrical reception, he said, has been encouraging, and the digital release offers an opportunity for the film’s emotional journey to resonate with viewers globally.

With its unconventional format and universal themes, Gandhi Talks is poised to find a broader audience in the digital space, reaffirming the enduring power of visual storytelling in contemporary cinema.
