Vels Films International officially announced a sequel to the blockbuster "Mookuthi Amman", starring RJ Balaji and Lady Superstar Nayanthara recently. However, in a surprising twist, RJ Balaji, who co-directed the first part, will not be part of "Mookuthi Amman 2". Nayanthara is set to reprise her iconic role as the goddess in the sequel.

The latest buzz reveals that the production team has hired a blockbuster director to helm the sequel. Director Sundar C, fresh off the success of his ₹100 crore hit "Aranmanai 4", is reportedly set to take the reins of "Mookuthi Amman 2". Currently, Sundar C is working on an untitled film with comedy legend Vaigai Puyal Vadivelu, but he is expected to dive into "Mookuthi Amman 2" once this project wraps up.

This news has quickly gained traction on social media. Sources indicate that promo shoot work for "Mookuthi Amman 2" is already underway, and an official announcement accompanied by a promo is expected soon. On the other hand, RJ Balaji is branching out with a spin-off titled "Maasani Amman", starring Trisha, under a different production house.
