Director Sundar C has completed an incredible 30 years in the Tamil film industry, and his wife, actress Khushbu, took to social media to celebrate the milestone with a heartfelt post that has quickly gone viral.
Sundar C began his journey in cinema as an assistant to legendary director Manivannan before making his directorial debut with Murai Maman in 1995. He quickly carved a niche for himself with back-to-back hits like Murai Mappillai, Ullathai Allitha, Mettukudi, and the Rajinikanth-starrer Arunachalam in 1997.
Over the years, Sundar C delivered a series of successful films such as Janakiraman, Unnai Thedi, Ullam Kollai Poguthae, Rishi, Anbe Sivam (starring Kamal Haasan), Winner, Giri, and Kalakalappu. He also created a blockbuster horror-comedy franchise with four installments of Aranmanai, and helmed Kalakalappu 2.
His recent works, including Madha Gaja Raja and Gangs of Godavari, received positive responses, reaffirming his lasting impact. He is currently directing Mookuthi Amman 2, featuring Nayanthara in the lead.
Beyond direction, Sundar C has acted in several films, sung songs, and made a mark as a producer through Avni Cine Creations. He has also ventured into television, producing popular serials like Nandini, Maya, Lakshmi Stores, and Jyothi.
Maintaining a successful career as a director for three decades is a rare feat in Tamil cinema — a distinction shared by only a few, such as Mani Ratnam. Sundar C’s consistent contributions have earned him a special place in the industry.
As fans and colleagues join in congratulating him, Khushbu’s proud tribute stands out as a touching acknowledgment of his extraordinary journey and enduring success.
