On Sunday, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao gave an assurance to the representatives of the Telugu film industry that the state government will always be there to lend a helping hand to the beleaguered industry. At a time when exhibitors and cine workers are in a lurch due to the pandemic, the CM said that the government is committed to easing the pain of the film industry.
At Pragati Bhavan, Megastar Chiranjeevi, Akkineni Nagarjuna and others met with the CM and spoke to him about the problems being faced by the Hyderabad-based film industry. KCR reportedly said that the city is home to the largest film industry after Mumbai and Chennai, and that it will receive help in the form of incentives and subsidies.
Later this month or in December, Telugu industry reps will hold a deliberation at Chiranjeevi's residence.
The meeting today saw the participation of reps like C Kalyan of the Producers Council, Narayan Das Narang of the Film Chamber, KL Damodar Prasad, prominent distributor Sudhakar Reddy, producer Niranjan Reddy and others.
