Kavin who started his career on television starring in 'Kanaa Kaanum Kalangal' later found fame through 'Saravanan Meenatchi' and 'Bigg Boss Tamil 3'. He has so far acted in three films as hero amongst which 'Lift' and 'DaDa' have been critical and commercial successes respectively.

The upcoming 'Star' is Kavin's fourth film ash hero for which the shooting has been completed and the final stage of post-production work is currently underway. There are reports that the team is eyeing the lucrative Valentines Day 2024 for a worldwide release. It makes business sense as the targetted audience are youth who will sure be celebrating February 14th in large numbers with love in the air.

Kavin, Aditi Pohankar and Preethi Mukundhan play the lead roles in 'Star' directed by Ilan with Yuvan Shankar Raja scoring the music. It is said that the promotional activities such as the teaser, trailer, and audio releases will commence from January 2024.

Kavin meanwhile is also on the verge of completing shooting for his fifth film as well. The as yet untitled film marks the directorial debut of dance choreographer/actor Sathish Krishnan. Kavin and Preethi Asrani are the lead pair with Mysskin as the chief antagonist. The major highlight of this film is that Anirudh Ravichander is scoring the music.
