Ajith Kumar's next film 'Thunivu' will storm the screens on Pongal 2023. This forthcoming action entertainer marks the star's third collaboration with director H Vinoth and producer Boney Kapoor. Now, H Vinoth in an interview revealed interesting details about the highly anticipated project.
Earlier, the reports strongly suggested that Thunivu is a heist thriller inspired by a true bank robbery incident that happened in 1987 in Punjab. However, Vinoth quashed the rumors and said that Thunivu will be a multi-genre film. He added, "The movie is not based on the Punjab robbery. There aren't many villains in the film but the plot is set in a dishonest world."
It is safe to say that Vinoth hints at an anti-hero film. The filmmaker further stated that Thunivu has grand action scenes including a never seen before chasing scene in the sea. Also, the female lead Manju Warrier will be seen as a partner in Ajith Kumar's gang and not his romantic pair. Meanwhile, Thunivu first single 'Chilla Chilla' is slated to be released on December 9.
Manju Warrier, Samuthirakani, John Kokken, Ajay, Veera, Mahanadhi Shankar, Amir, Pavni, Cibi Chandran, GM Sundar, Bhagavathy Perumal and others have played important characters in Thunivu. The technical team includes Nirav Shah as the cinematographer, Vijay Velukutty as the editor and Supreme Sundar as the stunt choreographer.
