Gautham Menon is one of the few filmmakers who has a loyal fan following that equals that of the mass heroes. His long-pending action thriller 'Enai Noki Paayum Thotta' starring Dhanush and Megha Akash is getting ready for release this Friday, November 29th. We caught up with him for a truly kickass interview in which the seasoned pro has fielded all controversial questions without batting an eyelid.
To the question of why he couldn't convince Vijay with a story, GVM's unabashed reply is that he would be happy if the hero comes into his story and not vice versa. He admits that Vijay and he have discussed a couple of knots but nothing could materialize as he couldn't go into the commercial formula. GVM, however, has stated with confidence that he has a perfect script for the Thalapathy and if he is ready to trust him that he will complete the project if sufficient funds are available then that would be the real Diwali. He has expressed that he likes Vijay a lot and would make sure that he knows the trick of how to make a 100 Crore project inside 30 Crores for the megastar.
On the other hand, Gautham revealed that Ajith initially approached him for a remake but he convinced him to do 'Yennai Arindhaal' and the Thala totally surrendered to the script. He recalls that when some scenes were there where Vivek's character would praise Ajith the much-loved hero asked Gautham not to shoot them as people would think that he insisted on them. There is much more about 'Dhruva Natchathiram', 'Enai Noki Paayum Thotta', Dhanush, Karthik Naren and 'Nenjam Marapathillai' in this rare and frank exclusive interview.
