The Tamil box office saw a major clash on May 16, 2025, with the release of two new films: Devil’s Double Next Level and Maaman. Early reports suggest that Devil’s Double Next Level, the fourth installment in the popular Dhilluku Dhuddu series, has outperformed Maaman in opening day collections.
According to box office tracker Cinetrak, Devil’s Double Next Level earned about ?2.55 crore from key theatres in Tamil Nadu on Day 1. With complete data now in, the total statewide collection is estimated at ?3.1 crore. In comparison, Maaman earned around ?1.55 crore from tracked locations, with its total Day 1 revenue said to be ?1.9 crore.
Directed by S. Prem Anand, the film features Santhanam in the lead role along with Geethika Tiwary, Selvaraghavan, and Gautham Vasudev Menon. Combining comedy and horror, the storyline centers around a film critic who finds himself stuck inside a horror movie. This creative twist adds humor and suspense, continuing the tone set by previous films in the franchise.
Produced by Niharika Entertainment and presented by Arya under The Show People banner, the movie features music by ofRO and visuals by cinematographer Dipak Kumar Padhy. The supporting cast includes actors like Nizhalgal Ravi, Redin Kingsley, and Yashika Anand.
With positive turnout on its first day, especially among fans of the series, Devil’s Double Next Level has made a strong start. Its future performance will depend on word-of-mouth and audience response in the coming days, but for now, it’s leading the box office.
