The world already knows that Dwayne Johnson, popularly known as The Rock, is debuting in the DC Extended Universe as the super villain Black Adam in the film of the same name. Today, the studio unleashed the first official trailer of Black Adam, which is arriving at the cinemas on October 21.
The 2-minute-long video let us have a look at some new footage but has nothing much to offer us than the previous promos. We get a clearer look at Dwayne Johnson as Black Adam with a glimpse at the premise which we already know. On the brighter side, it is good that it doesn't reveal much about the plot.
Black Adam is an antihero from Kahndaq who suffered 5,000 years of slavery. He will become the archenemy of the superhero Shazam and draws his powers from the ancient wizard of the same name. On the other hand, The Rock is rooting for a live-action face-off between Black Adam and Superman in the future.
Black Adam also introduces the new characters: Pierce Brosnan as Doctor Fate, Aldis Hodge as Hawkman, Noah Centineo as Atom Smasher and Quintessa Swindell as Cyclone. This movie will mark the live-action debut of the Justice Society of America. Black Adam is currently an important film in the DCEU as Dwayne says the hierarchy of power in DC will change.
