Actress Shruti Haasan who was last seen on screen in Suriya's Singam 3 in Tamil and Katamarayudu in Telugu was on a break, and was involved in musical shows and ventured into television as well. Now the actress is back to films and has signed few interesting projects.

While in Tamil she is already shooting for Laabam directed by SP Jhananathan and co-starring Vijay Sethupathi, the actress has now reportedly signed her first Telugu movie after the extended break and the speculations are making rounds that it is the remake of a blockbuster Tamil movie.

Shruti Haasan has been signed to play the female lead in a movie co-starring Ravi Teja and directed by Gopichand and it has been said that this movie might be the remake of Vijay starrer Theri directed by Atlee and that Shruti will play Samantha's role. While an official clarification is awaited, it must be noted that Theri was already dubbed in Telugu as Policeodu.
