Ratsasan, starring Vishnu Vishal and Amala Paul, and directed by Ram Kumar of Mundasupatti fame was one of the biggest hits of 2018. Released after a lot of delays, the movie went on to achieve critical and commercial success, and was a comeback for Vishnu Vishal after Kathanayagan.
The psycho thriller is currently being remade in Telugu, and the movie which is directed by a debutant named Ramesh Varma was launched few days back with hero Bellamkonda Sai Sreenivas playing the lead role played by Vishnu Vishal in the original.
After initial reports of Rakul Preet Singh and later Raashi Khanna being roped in as the female lead, now it has been confirmed that it is going to be Malayalam actress Anupama Parameswaran (Premam, Kodi fame) who will be reprising the role played by Amala Paul in the original. She will play a teacher, and Ghibran will score the music for this remake.
