The state governments are imposing more restrictions on all sectors, including theatres as the COVID-19 and the new variant Omicron cases are multiplying at a rapid pace all over the nation with each passing day. Following the restrictions, SS Rajamouli's magnum opus 'RRR' was indefinitely postponed to a later date from January 7.
On the contrary, Ajith's Valimai and Prabhas' Radhe Shyam team were confident that the films would release on January 13th and 14th respectively as planned. But owing to the alarming rise in the Covid and Omicron cases, the makers of Radhe Shyam have been left with no other option and finally, they have confirmed postponing their film.
An official announcement of the same has been made by its makers via social media. However, the team has made it clear that Radhe Shyam will only open in theatres with a delay and there are no plans for an OTT release. The production house tweeted, "We have to postpone the release of our film #RadheShyam due to the ongoing covid situation. Our sincere thanks to all the fans for your unconditional love and support. We will see you in cinemas soon..! #RadheShyamPostponed (sic)"
