Were there no space missions before Modi?: Mamata Banerjee

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today said in the Assembly that the Narendra Modi government is trying to divert people’s attention from the slowdown in the economy.  She said that the Centre is behaving as if there were no great space missions like Chandrayaan before Modi came to power.

The TMC supremo also blasted the NDA government, saying that the media and judiciary have been run by central advisories.

She hit out at the National Register of Citizens, which was recently released in Assam to identify illegal immigrants.  “The names of genuine Indians have been excluded from the NRC list. I spoke to Nitish Kumar, the Bihar Chief Minister, who said that he won’t allow the NRC.   I echo Dr. Manmohan Singh’s words that the Government should concentrate on the economy,” she added.
