Vijay Sethupathi rocked Bollywood as a deadly villain opposite Shah Rukh Khan in ‘Jawan’ earlier. Makkal Sevan is now gearing up for his upcoming Tamil-Hindi bilingual movie, ‘Merry Christmas’. It is a thriller film directed by the acclaimed director Sriram Raghavan of ‘Andhadhun’ fame.
Starring Vijay Sethupathi and Katrina Kaif in the lead roles, the trailer of ‘Merry Christmas’ surfaced over the internet today. The 2-minute video teases a story that unravels in a single night. We see the initial half of the trailer from Katrina Kaif’s perspective. She is a normal single mother who meets and falls for a stranger (Vijay Sethupathi) in one night.
Meanwhile, Vijay Sethupathi’s perspective depicts an intriguing plot with more characters and a drug smuggling backdrop. The makers brilliantly crafted a narrative in the trailer without revealing much about the actual story. Notably, the Tamil and Hindi versions have two entirely different trailer cuts. ‘Merry Christmas’ is coming to cinemas on 12th January 2024.
Vijay Sethupathi and Katrina Kaif play the lead roles with a supporting cast of Gayathrie, Radhika Sarathkumar (Tamil version), Vinay Pathak (Hindi version), Sanjay Kapoor, Tinnu Raaj Anand, Pratima Kannan, Radhika Apte, Ashwini Kalsekar, Shanmugarajan, Kavin Jay Babu, Rajesh Williams and others.
