Dhanush’s D55 Officially Launched with Grand Pooja!

Tamil superstar Dhanush has kickstarted his much-anticipated 55th film, tentatively titled D55, with a traditional pooja ceremony held yesterday (February 4, 2026). The project marks the first-ever on-screen collaboration between Dhanush and acclaimed director Rajkumar Periasamy, fresh off the blockbuster success of Amaran starring Sivakarthikeyan.

The film boasts a powerhouse ensemble cast led by Dhanush, with Malayalam megastar Mammootty making a grand entry in a key pivotal role — marking his return to Tamil cinema after several years. This adds massive gravitas to the project, with Mammootty himself expressing excitement: “Elated and excited to be a part of this journey with @dhanushkraja and @Rajkumar_KP.” Dhanush responded warmly, calling it “an absolute honour, Sir!”

The female leads include Sai Pallavi, reuniting with Dhanush after their successful pairing in Maari 2 (2018) and collaborating again with Rajkumar Periasamy post-Amaran, and Sreeleela, stepping into Tamil cinema in a major way alongside Dhanush for the first time.

Adding to the excitement, the film’s music and background score will be composed by the young sensation Sai Abhyankkar, known for his fresh and energetic tracks.
