Vetrimaaran’s AD dies tragically after alleged actor’s car hit his bike

The shocking news has come that Vetrimaran’s assistant director died tragically on the spot in an accident involving an actor’s car.  His colleagues in the film industry are posting condolences on social media.

Charanraj  worked as an assistant director in films including ‘Vada Chennai’ and ‘Asuran’ directed by Vetrimaran and both starring Dhanush in the lead. He was apparently riding a two-wheeler near KK Nagar in Chennai at 11:30 last night when a car coming behind hit his bike at high speed.  Sources say that  the 26 year old was seriously injured and died on the spot.

The police who came to know about the accident rushed to recover Charanraj’s body and sent it to the government hospital for post-mortem.  On investigation it was revealed that the car driver’s name is Palaniappan and that he had acted in supporting roles in some films. It is also said that Palaniappan was driving the car under the influence of alcohol. The police have seized the CCTV footage of the area and are investigating the incident
