February 24 was Valimai Day for Ajith Kumar fans. Early morning shows (4 am) were arranged at a few theatres across Tamil Nadu. From bursting crackers to pouring milk on cut-outs, the fans celebrated the arrival of Ajith's film like a carnival.

On its opening day, Valimai was off to a great start. Since the film had a solo release, it looks like the film has broken several box office collections. It is reported that Valimai grossed a whooping amount of 70 to 75 crores all over India, #5 to 36 crores in Tamil Nadu and 1.82 crores just in Chennai.

In addition, Valimai is performing to its full ability in Malaysia and Singapore. according to reports, the film has grabbed the No 1 position in both countries followed by Tom Holland's Uncharted in the second place.

Valimai, directed by H Vinoth, is a story about a good cop and a Bikers gang villain who employs youngsters in smuggling drugs and day-light robbery. Ajith, Kartikeya Gummakonda and Huma Qureshi play the lead roles in the film. Produced by Boney Kapoor, the film has music scored by Yuvan Shankar Raja and the background score by Ghibran.
