Veteran producer R. B. Choudary, founder of Super Good Films, passed away on Tuesday following a car accident in Udaipur. His sudden demise has left the South Indian film industry in shock.
R.B. Choudary was one of the most respected producers in Tamil and Telugu cinema, known for backing several blockbuster films over the decades. Though originally from Rajasthan, he built a remarkable legacy in South Indian cinema and became a prominent figure in the industry.
Starting his journey in Tamil cinema, Choudary later expanded successfully into Telugu films as well. He played a major role in introducing and supporting several talented filmmakers during the early stages of their careers, including directors K. S. Ravikumar, Vikraman, and N. Lingusamy.
His first major Telugu production was Suswagatham starring Pawan Kalyan, which became a memorable success. He later produced several hit Telugu films including Suryavamsam and Raja with Venkatesh, along with Nuvvu Vasthavani, Simha Rasi, and Snehamante Idera.
Apart from producing successful films, R.B. Choudary was widely appreciated for encouraging fresh talent, especially in Tamil cinema. He is survived by his family, including his son Jiiva, who is a well-known actor in the Tamil film industry.
