Thug Life Box Office Collection Day 6: Kamal Haasan has recently been in the spotlight, not only due to his remarks on the Kannada language but also for his latest movie, Thug Life. Directed by Mani Ratnam, this gangster action drama marks their second collaboration after 38 years, making it one of the most awaited films of the year.
The film features a star-studded cast including Abhirami, Trisha Krishnan, Rohit Saraf, Silambarasan, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Ashok Selvan, Joju George, Nassar, Ali Fazal, and Baburaj. The trailer generated major buzz, racking up an impressive 31.91 million views within 24 hours, becoming the second most-watched Tamil trailer in a single day.
Despite the hype, Thug Life has received mixed reviews and is facing a decline at the box office. As per Sacnilk, the movie earned Rs 1.8 crores on its sixth day (Tuesday), showing a 21.74% drop in collections. The total earnings stand at Rs 41 crores.
When compared to Indian 2, which collected Rs 3.3 crores on its 6th day, Thug Life underperformed with nearly half that amount.
Talking exclusively to Filmibeat, Kamal Haasan explained the long-awaited reunion with Mani Ratnam, saying, “It’s like a college reunion where life keeps you apart until one day, everyone decides to meet up and work together.”
