Thalapathy Vijay’s blockbuster movie ‘Ghilli’ was re-released worldwide last month and has collected as much as the latest Tamil releases of this year. The 20-year-old movie has become the highest-grossing re-release in Indian cinema. Recently, it has been announced that another old movie of Thalapathy Vijay is set for re-release.
‘Villu’, the 2009 film, was announced to hit the screens again. Ayngaran International, who produced the movie, officially revealed that Villu is all set for a worldwide re-release on Thalapathy Vijay’s 50th birthday, 21st June 2024. The 4K remastered version will come to cinemas this time. It is worth mentioning that Villu was a box-office failure during the time of its release.
‘Villu’ has Thalapathy Vijay in dual roles. The film was written by AC Mugil and directed by Prabhu Deva. The ensemble star cast comprises Vijay, Nayanthara, Vadivelu, Prakash Raj, Devaraj, Anandaraj, Sriman, Manoj K. Jayan and many others. Devi Sri Prasad composed the musical score while the cinematography was done by Ravi Varman and editing was handled by Kola Bhaskar.
