Rajendra Prasad, a veteran icon of comedy and character acting in the Telugu film industry, has sparked a major controversy with his recent comments at an event. While intending to praise the legendary actor Kantha Rao, his comparison involving the “Makkal Thilagam” M.G.R. has caused dissatisfaction among Tamil fans and the film fraternity.
In response, actor Vishal shared an emotional statement expressing his grievance and condemnation.
Key Points from Vishal’s Statement:
Vishal expressed that he was shocked and saddened to see the comments made by senior actor Mr. Rajendra Prasad at a recent event.

Addressing Prasad, Vishal wrote, “Sir, I write this with great respect for you, but with a heavy heart. I condemn your remarks about the one and only #MGR, who was not just a cinema legend but a monumental leader of Tamil Nadu, forever etched in our memories.”
He noted that while praising the legendary Mr. Kantha Rao Garu is a wonderful gesture, belittling a massive personality like M.G.R.—who still holds an irreplaceable place in people’s hearts—to elevate someone else has hurt public sentiment.
Vishal urged Prasad to take necessary action to put an end to this issue. He added, “Forgive me for saying this, but just as I would feel hurt as an actor if someone spoke ill of a senior artist like you in the future, I believe you should apologize in this matter.”

Vishal concluded his post by saying, “I expect this in the interest of goodwill. God bless.”
This issue has become a major talking point across the South Indian film industry. Many observers share the sentiment that senior artists should remain mindful of history and public emotions when speaking about legendary figures.
